Michael Jones is the current Chairman and CEO of H&H Insurance Services, Inc.  A true Georgia “native”, Michael is the descendant of original settlers in North Georgia and what is now the Metropolitan Atlanta area.   Members of the Jones family have established a strong background in the area’s construction, farming and power plant management fields.

A 1969 Graduate of West Georgia College, Michael earned his Business Science degree and immediately went to work for Wausau Insurance Companies.  He held positions in Claims, Loss Control and Underwriting before beginning his sales career in 1975.   It was while working at Wausau that Michael met Christopher Wortham, Patricia Lisk and Bill Hyatt – all key contributors to H&H Insurance Services, Inc.  Christopher is the current President of H&H Insurance Services, Inc.  Patricia Lisk is the Vice President of Casualty Operations and Bill Hyatt is the Underwriting Manager. Bill has recently retired but still active with H & H.

In the early 80’s, Michael left Wausau to begin working with a very large international brokerage, Frank B. Hall and Company of Georgia.  He watched his already successful book of business grow to become an even more successful book of both international and domestic property and casualty business.  It was at Frank B. Hall and Company of Georgia that Michael met Kim Haynes, another H&H Insurance Services, Inc. Principal and Susan Sullivan, H&H Insurance Services, Inc.’s top Benefits Producer.

Toward the end of the 80’s and during a transitioning time in the Property & Casualty industry, Michael and the others recognized the opportunity to work for a smaller establishment with national exposure.  The group of six joined Harris & Harris of Georgia.  After four years of demonstrating their ability, Michael Jones, Christopher Wortham, Patricia Lisk and Kim Haynes purchased the outstanding stock and assets of Harris & Harris of Georgia and formed H&H Insurance Services, Inc.

Forming long term, successful relationships with clients, business associates and insurance company executives is of utmost importance to Michael and has certainly played a monumental role in his success - quite a few of his original clients are still served by H&H Insurance Services, Inc. to this day!   Through his experience, Michael has developed an open and approachable management style and continues to take an interest in every aspect of H&H Insurance Services, Inc.  Michael is proud of the financial stability and strength that H&H Insurance Services, Inc. has developed throughout the years and is intent on operating H&H Insurance Services, Inc. as a “local” establishment committed to serving its customers – H&H Insurance Services, Inc. is fiercely independent and intent on maintaining its independence throughout the next decade.

In addition to growing the business, Michael is active in civic and political arenas.  Having been involved in the Boy Scouts of America since a child, Michael continues to participate in scouting activities to this day.

Michael’s greatest accomplishment, however, are his children – 23, 24 & 26 – all currently attending college.   Melanie the youngest will graduate with honors from the U.S. Air Force Academy and go on for pilot training.  Christopher will be graduating from Georgia State with a degree in Insurance and Risk Management, and Shelby will be in her second year of a doctors program in Micro Biology.  Shelby has started her family and now Michael has two grand children   4 and 10 months.
